- ChatGPT for emails.
- Gemini for quick answers.
- Claude for presentations.
AI is more than ChatGPT for emails, Gemini for quick answers, Claude for presentations, or any of the other quick tricks people try first.
You know your business.
We speak AI.
Most owners have already tried the chatbots. A better email from ChatGPT, a quick answer from Gemini, a tidier slide deck from Claude. That’s fine. It just isn’t a system, and nobody in the building has the job of turning it into one.
A system is the quote that gets drafted from the site-visit notes before you’re back in the truck. The follow-up that goes out on day three because nobody had to remember it. The order nobody retypes. The paperwork that used to pile up by Thursday.
Those have to be built around how your business actually runs, so that’s where we start: inside it, watching how the work gets done. Then we build the pieces, set them up with your people, and stay until they’re just part of the day.
Opening something new? Better still. It’s easier to build it right on day one than to fix it in year three.

Off By Four
Ideally, done by four.
A note from the Off By Four team
We built it for ourselves first.
We’re serial founders. For the past two years we’ve been building custom AI systems for our own businesses, and along the way we learned the ins and outs of building and using AI properly.
Most owners haven’t had the time to learn that, and there’s no reason they should have. They’re busy running the business. That’s the part we bring.
We start inside your business. We spend time with you and your team and watch how the work really gets done. We’ll bring the coffee. We look for the jobs that get done the same way every week, the slow handoffs, and the things that only live in one person’s head. Then we build for those, set it up alongside your people, and keep tuning until it’s part of the day.
Nobody gets cut. The people you already have just spend less of the day copying, pasting and chasing.Except maybe the spreadsheet.
The name is the goal: a business that runs well enough that everyone heads home at a decent hour. Ideally, by four.
Mordechai Hoffmann, Founder at Off By Four
P.S. Four is a goal, not a curfew. We won’t check. Much.
How it goes.
Four steps. We counted.
Look around.
Time with you and your team, on the actual work. Quotes, scheduling, follow-ups, orders, the Friday pile.
Find the drag.
Repetitive tasks, slow handoffs, bottlenecks, and the things that only live in one person’s head. You get a short written list of what’s worth fixing first.
Build what fits.
Systems, agents and automations made for your business and the tools you already use.
Make it stick.
Set up alongside your team, shown to the people who’ll use it, and tuned until it’s part of the day.
